Scilly can be reached from the English mainland by helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft or ship. Isles of Scilly Travel , handles the ferry and the fixed wing planes. British International , handles the helicopters. The Scillonian ferry departs Penzance quay at 9.15. (Please check the times as they can vary at different times of the season and on spring tides.) It sails directly to St Marys and takes just over two-and-a-half hours. If you travel by Scillonian III, the local carrier will automatically deliver your luggage to Garrison House for a small fee. Garrison House is just a short walk up the hill fromthe Quay. Follow the signs for Star Castle. For travel by Skybus, a mini-bus meets every flight and will bring you to the Garrison Gate. For travel by helicopter, we will book you a taxi (generally Island Taxis, a dark blue mini-bus), as the helicopter bus does not come to the Garrison. |
